Ethyl Acetate
- INCI:
- Ethyl Acetate
- Also known as:
- Acetic acid ethyl ester
Fast-evaporating ester solvent with high dissolving power for resins, inks, and adhesives. It is a standard component of thinners for nitrocellulose lacquers and for flexographic and rotogravure printing inks. Its handling is subject to the controls applicable to controlled substances in Colombia.

Butyl Acetate
Medium-evaporating ester solvent, valued in coatings for improving leveling and reducing moisture blushing in lacquers. It efficiently dissolves nitrocellulose, acrylic, and polyurethane resins. A common component of thinners for wood finishes and automotive refinishing.
Butyl Glycol
Glycol ether with excellent coupling power between water and organic solvents. It is a classic component of concentrated degreasers and multi-purpose cleaners, and acts as a tail solvent in water-based paints, improving film formation. Its dual affinity makes it highly efficient in industrial cleaning formulations.
Diethylene Glycol
Higher-boiling glycol used as a slow-drying solvent, plasticizer, and wetting agent in strictly industrial applications. It is used in the manufacture of resins, inks, and textile auxiliaries, and as a gas dehydrating agent in the oil industry. It must not be used in food, pharmaceutical, or personal care applications.
Ester Alcohol Coalescent
Slow-evaporating coalescing agent used in water-based architectural paints to promote film formation at low temperatures. It temporarily plasticizes the emulsion particles, improving film integrity, gloss, and scrub resistance. Its efficiency allows moderate dosages in most acrylic and vinyl systems.
